We used a star shaped cutter and my daughter added sprinkles to make them ‘pretty’ .
- 250g of butter
- 110g of caster sugar
- 360g of plain flour
- Couple of drops of vanilla extract
1Beat butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth.
2Stir in flour and work biscuit mixture.
3Turn out dough on to a floured flat surface.
4Gently roll out paste until about 1.5 cm thick.
5Cut into required shape, sprinkle with castor sugar and place in the fridge to chill for about 15 mins.
6Bake in the oven Gas mark 5 for about 15-20 mins or until they are a light golden brown.
7Set aside and cool, preferably on a wire rack.
