This is a nine screen cinema situated in the Surrey Quays leisure park, it’s close to other local leisure facilities such as bowling and family friendly restaurants and there is ample parking available outside. The cinema offers a wide range of snacks and drinks and there is a small amusement arcade and a pick and mix bar.
MUMMY’S GIN FUND SAYS:
I visited this cinema with my three year old to see Big Hero Six, we went with my cousin who loves children’s films and had just finished her exams – as it was a special occasion I booked us some premier seats, I’d never done that before and it was expensive but it was a real treat! We went from Catford by bus which took us all the way there with no changes but there are tubes, or plenty of parking if you drive. We arrived early so had a look at the little arcade and tried but failed to win anything. While choosing his pick and mix my little boy dropped a small toy he was carrying down behind the unit- it looked to be lost for ever and I was fully prepared for tears but the manager went to great lengths to dismantle part of the unit and retrieve it (it was a cheap and not favourite toy!) – I was very impressed. There are ample loos available and in general the place was clean and well cared for. Surrey Quays leisure centre is pretty grim but no more so than a lot of these places- it was great to be able to leave the cinema and find a restaurant on the door step to have dinner in. I chose it as it was a central place to meet my cousin but I would go back as the journey there was part of a fun day out for my little one who had a total ball!
