An amazing leisure centre with waves, water cannons, lazy river rapids, waterslides and small heated baby pool.

MUMMY’S GIN FUND SAYS:

Definitely worth the pilgrimage and great fun for a family of all ages. Café offers great variety and value for money. Changing facilties are clean and adequate. The pool itself offers great fun and covers each age group.

Address: New Hythe Lane, Aylesford ME20 6RH.

Website: http://www.larkfieldleisure.co.uk.

Flumes/waves: There are two pools; a leisure and a fitness pool. Let’s start with the boring part – the fitness pool is 25m long and aimed at people looking for a lane swimming experience which will ‘improve your health and fitness levels’. Now for the fun part! The leisure pool offers a lot for all the family. There is a small heated pool for babies and toddlers which is off to the side of the main pool and great for building confidence. My only complaint is that it isn’t closed off from the rest of the pool so be prepared if your child is sensitive to the loud noises of the swimming pool. There is also a jungle pool which is a little kids’ swimming park that my son enjoyed. The main ‘leisure’ pool has waves, water cannons, lazy river rapids, slipstream waterslide and space bowl. One thing to mention here is that with all these facilities there are many lifeguards who are extremely attentive which really puts your mind at ease.

Cafe: The café has a menu that offers variety and good value. They have kids’ options as well as a ‘lunchbox’ option. The café itself is clean and maintained regularly by the staff. The decoration is slightly tired but it is easily overlooked for the other merits of the café. Just off the café is a soft play centre which can be used to further wear out the kids.

Toilets: The toilets are clean and well maintained with baby change options also. Again the decoration is tired and could do with a bit of tlc. The changing rooms offer family change however at busy times these do get busy so you may have to wait in order to use the changing tables and playpens.

Pram/wheelchair/mobility friendly: The entry to reception and down to the pool area is wheelchair/pram/mobility friendly.
Parking: There is a large car park on site where parking is free.

Nearest Station: New Hythe.

Bus: Routes 215, 541, 781, 782, T13 and T14.

Phone: 01622 719345.

Email: larkfield.leisurecentre@tmbc.gov.uk.
