Crystal Palace Park Farm is a city farm based in Crystal Palace Park. It has a range of animals including pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits and chickens. It’s near the dinosaurs and the play area so there’s lots to see and do. The farm also offers educational visits for children covering life cycles and seasonal changes, differences between animals and humans, reproduction in animals, classification, diet and dentition, amongst others’.
MUMMY’S GIN FUND SAYS:
Whilst this is a fairly small city farm, it’s still a great trip out and the Capel Manor students are always keen to help and teach kids about the animals. There are a variety of animals to see and if you visit towards closing time, you can often watch while the staff put them back in their stables for the night.
There isn’t a specific petting area although the staff have been known to bring out some of the snakes and lizards for a stroke (assuming you are braver than me!). It’s also well-located within Crystal Palace Park so easy to combine with a bit of dinosaur spotting, feeding the ducks or a play on the swings.
