  1. Use Your Facebook Post Allowance

Are you posting in the MGF Facebook groups? Your listing includes either 12 (standard listing) or 52 (VIP listing) Facebook posts per year. You can use them once a month, once a week, in a flurry before a special offer – it’s up to you.

The website listing is valuable, and we get thousands of hits per month, but it’s the Facebook groups where the magic happens. The most successful Recommended Businesses use their full post allowance.

You can post the same post in Mummy’s Gin Fund, Mother’s Little Helper and MGF Buy & Sell.

Your post can be an advert, a video, a share of your own Facebook page, a questionnaire, a case study – whatever you like. Our audience responds best to personal stories and examples of work, rather than just a straight advert.

You must include the words ** MGF Recommended Business ** somewhere in your post or it will be deleted. This is a) to help group admins identify official Recommended Businesses (non-recommended business posts are deleted), b) Showcase the fact that you are supporting MGF by having a listing on our website and c) Direct our audience to the Recommended Business Directory.

Encouraging people to like or comment on a post is a great way of keeping it bumped up and beating the algorithms.

  1. Ask your satisfied customers to leave you a review on your MGF website listing

The brand new, updated version of the Recommended Business Directory now includes a star rating. Customers can register or log-in to the website and leave a written review with up to 5 stars. This helps give potential customers confidence in your business and is a great way for your existing customers to sing your praises publicly. VIP listings are pinned to the top of the category on our website, but all other listings are shown in order of star ratings so the more stars you have, the higher on the page you will appear. Simply share your MGF listing with your customers and ask them to leave you a review.

  1. Get commenting / interacting 

Mummy’s Gin Fund is a very active community, not the Yellow Pages. As well as posting adverts in the groups, make sure you are active in our Facebook communities. All studies show that people buy from people they like, so get yourself known and liked and the customers will come. Having a listing on the website entitles you to mention your company in any relevant threads, as well as linking to your website or social media in the comments in our Facebook groups. For example, if someone is asking for kitchen recommendations, and you offer free quotes, tell everyone! You MUST state that you are an official MGF Recommended Business though or your comment will be deleted.

This is by far the most important effective thing I would suggest to grow awareness of your business in MGF. The idea is to become known as ‘THE’ kitchen fitter. Or ‘THE’ cake maker’. Once you become recognised, your popularity will snowball and you’ll find other Gin Funders tagging you in posts and recommending you.

Give advice, share top tips, how your personality, go above and beyond to help people and our audience will love you for it.

  1. Share on your own channels

Have you told your followers that you are in the MGF Recommended Business Directory? If not, you should! You need to tell the whole world. Not only will you get some MGF love by association (everyone loves MGF so why not get your brand aligned with us as much as possible!), you’ll also be sending traffic to your listing. The more traffic you get, the more likely it is that someone will leave you a review, the higher you will get up the page and the more attractive your listing will look.
